Heat makes Pat Robertson a global warming "convert" - Yahoo! News: "Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said on Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.Sigh. I've always thought much of Environmentalism was an article of faith, now there's a new believer.
'We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels,' Robertson said on his '700 Club' broadcast. 'It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air.'
This week the heat index, the perceived temperature based on both air temperatures and humidity, reached 115 Fahrenheit in some regions of the U.S. East Coast. The 76-year-old Robertson told viewers that was 'the most convincing evidence I've seen on global warming in a long time.'"
Usually random links to stuff I think is interesting, politically, culturally and morally. Sometimes I actually write some things, but not as often as I'd like.

An Inconvenient Heatwave

Global warming? Is that why we had similar heatwaves in the 1930's and 40's?
This is what bugs me about this stuff. I mean, maybe there is global warming, maybe there isn't. But a dang heatwave lasting a week in the US is not necessarily proof one way or another. If there's a week long cold snap next January someone'll say, "see? no global warming!" Both are just as illogical. Argh!
