Report: Islamic group makes claim of responsibility: "CAIRO, Egypt-- A group calling itself 'The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe' posted a claim of responsibility for Thursday's blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan."
If this is true it raises an important question: Why is it that the left-wing of the Democratic Party can't see the relationship between Iraq and Global Terrorism.
To me, this bombing is a sign that we are winning in Iraq and Afghanistan and the terrorist thugs are trying to shift focus in a desperate attempt to regain credibility.

One reason some folks fail to see the connection is that both the Bush and Blair administrations refuse to label such terrorism as having an Islamic source of inspiration. Instead, they retreat to the generic designation of groups "linked" to Al-Qaida. But it shouldn't be necessary to establish a specific Al-Qaida connection, only a general jihadist connection, of which Al-Qaida itself is just one manifestation among many.
